ACA marks the start of the Integrated Infrastructure Project in Huambo
On 21 January, the handover certificate for the Huambo Integrated Infrastructure project was signed. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos; the Governor of Huambo, Eng. Pereira Alfredo; the Secretary of State for Public Works, Eng. Manuel José da Costa Molares De Abril; and the Director-General of INEA, Eng. Henrique Victorino, amongst other officials. Representing ACA were Alberto Couto Alves, CEO and founder; Alberto Luís P. Couto Alves, ACA Board Member; Pedro Simas, Director-General of ANGOLACA; and Luís Mendes, Provincial Director.
The project incorporates modern micro and macro rainwater drainage systems, sanitation infrastructure and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), solutions that reduce the risk of flooding and protect people and homes.
At the same time, the regeneration and creation of green spaces plays a central role in the urban, environmental and social enhancement of the city. The project also includes work on 148 km of urban roads, contributing to improved mobility and infrastructure safety, which will help promote a better quality of life for the people of Huambo through the use of public spaces.
Through the implementation of this project, ACA Construction is contributing to a more cohesive, resilient and sustainable city, creating over 200 direct jobs, with the potential to reach 1,000 jobs at its peak.
The EPC+F project will have a financial structure comprising bank financing, to be arranged by Deutsche Bank, the entity selected by the Angolan Ministry of Finance, and supplemented by export credit agency cover, ensuring financial support for the project’s implementation.
The video explains the project in detail and the three strategic pillars that are transforming the future of Huambo.
